Kaizer Chiefs have identified the three key areas of weakness in their squad. Will the board back the boss to sort them out?
Three areas where Kaizer Chiefs are prioritising signings
Right back
Right back has long been an issue for Kaizer Chiefs, with neither Dillan Solomons nor Reever Frosler seemingly trusted long-term in the role. Richards Bay club chairman Jomo Biyela admitted that Chiefs were interested in Lwandile Mabuya during the January window. According to Soccer-Laduma, the Glamour Boys are ready to make a concrete offer.
Striker
It’s no secret that Amakhosi are desperate to sign a reliable marksman who can get them double figures for goals, season on season. Fiston Mayele has been a long-standing target. Meanwhile, there have been more far-fetched links with Kenyan legend Michael Olunga. Fans will hope that Chiefs can get a deal done for a clinical finisher. Existing options Ashley Du Preez and Ranga Chivaviro have failed to impress.

Goalkeeper
According to Soccer Laduma, Chippa United want to sign Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Ethan Visagie. He’s yet to make his Bucs debut. Pirates have a surplus of goalkeepers on their books and are keen to send Visagie out on loan to gain valuable first-team experience. The Chilli Boys see 23-year-old Visagie as the perfect replacement for Stanley Nwabali, who they expect to leave. The Nigerian Number 1, Nwabali, is wanted across the PSL and in Europe. The 28-year-old, who stands at an impressive 1.96m tall, has made 19 appearances in the league this term.
Would you say these are the three key focus areas?
