Mother City starlet catches Orlando Pirates’ attention!

Orlando Pirates have longed for the services of Cape Town City winger Jaedin Rhodes.

The 21-year-old was nearly there’s in January, but like Oswin Appollis and Fawaaz Basadien, months of negotiations failed to materialise into a deal. Jose Riveiro, seeing Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns summer window success, was presumably dumbfounded at Pirates inability to sign players.

“He (Rhodes) has been one of their (Pirates’) targets for some time now,” SoccerLaduma confirmed.

“They have been monitoring him though there hasn’t been much happening. They were targeting him for the January transfer window period. Now that it didn’t happen they have more time to work on it and will see what happens in the next window. But they are interested in him. That I can tell you.

Another source confirmed the Buccaneers offseason objective, saying, “obviously, they (Pirates) will either loan some out or release some as well. But that’s the time they need to work on their squad and since it didn’t happen in January then they will work on it in the off season. Rhodes is one player on that list already.“

“He [Ibrahim Njoya] has asked me to come on board [Prestige Football Development], and after a meeting with him and the CEO, it was decided that I should join. How the academy functions and their objectives and everything that we do were outlined, and I was happy to get involved,

“How the academy functions and their objectives and everything they do were outlined, and I was happy to get involved. I believe that I have made a good decision by getting involved with them,” Orlando Pirates leading goalscorer concluded.
