Kaizer Chiefs are reportedly closing in on goal king as transfer fee drops ahead of next season.
Chiefs chances of signing a quality forward that can bang in goals and get them closer to winning a title is getting better and better.
Chiefs main target possibly available
As this publication reported before, Chiefs main target has always been Fiston Mayele but what Pyramids FC wanted for the former Yanga striker was too much for Amakhosi.
But because he is getting to the last year of his contract, the Egyptian CAF Champions League semi-finalists want to cash in and not risk losing him on a free next season.
Initially they wanted between R20 and R25 million, but this publication is told that it will be much lower. And this makes a deal a lot easier for Kaizer Chiefs and their head coach Nasreddine Nabi, who wants to reunite with the much sought after goal machine.
At Young Africans SC, Mayele, 30, scored 14 goals in 18 appearances. But at Pyramids he has managed to convert 34 goals in 72 matches.
Source reveals inside details
“Anything between 10 and 15 million will work for Chiefs. And we believe that Pyramids are wanting something in that same region. But there is Lakay and recently the striker at TS Galaxy(Dzenan Zajmovic) has also been seen as a player similar to Tashreeq Morris. But the difference is he scores more goals,” the source told The South African.
So with Kaizer Chiefs desperate to solve their scoring woes. Who do you think will be best suited to solve their problems and ultimately bring back the glory days? Lakay, Mayele or Zajmovic?
