Today’s Kaizer Chiefs transfer news revolves around the club’s ongoing striker search. There’s also bad news on the MTN8 front.
Kaizer Chiefs target Zajmovic
30-year-old Bosnian star Dzenan Zajmovic has been a late bloomer in his career. However, 2024-2025 season numbers of eight goals and three assists in 22 Betway Premiership appearances are indicative of a guy who can do a job in South Africa’s PSL. Only Sundowns pair Iqraam Rayners and Lucas Ribeiro Costa have scored more than the 1.90m tall marksman this term. His record of a direct goal contribution every other game has raised a few eyebrows.

Zajmovic isn’t the only surprise name on Chiefs’ striker wish list.

MTN8 hopes suffer a blow
With the news of Royal AM’s expulsion from the PSL, all points collected against them have become null and void. As a result, the revised table sees Chiefs sit on 29 points after 23 games. Previously, they were on 30 points after 24 outings. Points mean more than games in hand at this stage of a campaign. Chippa and Golden Arrows both pose a serious threat to their ambitions of a top-eight finish; the Chilli Boys are now level on points with the Glamour Boys and have a game in hand on Nabi’s men. An imminent trip to Chippa on Saturday 19 April could be make or break.

Will Chiefs make next season’s MTN8?
