‘He can elevate Orlando Pirates to the next level’ – Bucs legend on club’s potential new coach

Orlando Pirates legend Benedict ‘Tso’ Vilakazi believes Rulani Mokwena is the right coach to replace Jose Riveiro.

The Spanish mentor leaves the Buccaneer at the end of the season, having won five trophies with the Soweto giants. His replacement has not been found, but many fans have demanded the club bring in Pitso Mosimane as his replacement.

Vilakazi thought, feels Rulani Mokwena could be a perfect coach to take Orlando Pirates to the next level.

“I’m not suggesting this because Rulani might have unfinished business with Pirates,” said Tso as per KickOff.

“He is the only candidate available after the issues he’s facing with Wydad. Rulani is a good coach, and I believe he can elevate Pirates to the next level,” he said.

Ex-Sundowns coach Rulani Mokwena could rejoin Orlando Pirates

Mokwena left Mamelodi Sundowns last year to join Wydad Casablanca. His time in Morocco has produced a mixed bag of results, with the club deciding to part ways with him at the end of the season. Speaking to the Moroccan media, the former Orlando Pirates coach admitted he can’t make everyone happy.

“I’m the coach and I make decisions. You guys question me all the time. Yes, I’m the coach, and I make the decision, so leave me to make the decision and die with the decisions.”

No, not anymore. I’m off social media. One of the reasons I went off social media is because of the noise. There are five million Wydad fans, I cannot satisfy five million people. I have to do what I believe inside my soul and I have to do what I believe is right,” Mokwena said.

Rulani was the coach of Orlando Pirates in 2019 but failed to get positive results before he was demoted to assistant coach.

Should Mokwena return to Pirates?
