Orlando Pirates have landed a massive transfer coup, beating Kaizer Chiefs to an exciting Bafana star.
Pirates beat Chiefs to Kwayiba
According to iDiski Times, Orlando Pirates have sealed a deal ahead of Kaizer Chiefs for Chippa and Bafana playmaker Sinoxolo Kwayiba. The 25-year-old has an eye for goal, striking six times and claiming an assist from 19 league appearances this term. Ironically, Chippa’s next opponents are Kaizer Chiefs.
“Orlando Pirates are edging ever closer to the signing of Chippa and Bafana midfielder Sinoxolo Kwayiba. iDiski Times has established that Pirates and Chippa have reached a club-to-club agreement for Kwayiba. However, personal terms aren’t done yet. Should the personal terms be sorted, the midfielder will join the Buccaneers ahead of the 2025/26 campaign. Thabo September, who is the head coach of Chippa, is resigned to losing the talented attacker after admitting that the player was ready for a big move, having done all he has for the club.”
Champions League action is next for the Buccaneers
Meanwhile, next up for the Sea Robbers is the first leg of a massive Champions League semi-final. They face the Egyptian outfit Pyramids FC. This clash takes place at Orlando Stadium on Saturday, 19 April at 18:00. The second leg is on Friday, 25 April in Egypt.

Breakout star Mbekezeli Mbokazi, now a firm fixture in the Orlando Pirates XI, will miss both meetings with Kaizer Chiefs. The 19-year-old central defender is part of the South African U20 side at the most inopportune time for Pirates, ruling him out of these two matches. The U20 AFCON takes place between 26 April and 18 May.
