Springboks – Full list: FOUR Boks injured – Update

Several Springboks are currently out sidelined with injuries. Some more serious than others.

The Springboks will have to dig into their squad depth when the Test season returns in June.

Several stars have missed large chunks of their respective seasons. Meanwhile, some Boks have unfortunately been ruled out for the season.

FULL LIST OF INJURED SPRINGBOKS

  • Trevor Nyakane (raptured achilles tendon, out for the season)
  • Elrigh Louw (torn ligaments in his knee, out for the season)
  • Jasper Wiese (neck injury, out for the season)
  • Manie Libbok (knee injury, April 26)

Unfortunately Springboks stars, Nyakane, Louw and Wiese have all been ruled out for the remainder of the season.

Nyakane raptured his achilles tendon which has ruled him out for the 2025 season, as reported on The South African. Whereas, Bulls loose forward, Louw faces the same fate.

Likewise, Wiese’s has had to undergo neck surgery ruling him out for the season too.

Meanwhile, Etzebeth has been out of action after his concussion in December during the URC. Thankfully, he is set to return to action after being announced in John Plumtree’s Sharks touring squad for the URC.

Finally, Libbok is recovering from a bump he took to his knee during the Stormers URC encounter against Leicester. Dobson confirmed that Libbok could return for the Stormers URC encounter against Benetton on the 26th April.

‘We will keep him {Libbok} on ice. We could push him (Libbok) into action against Benetton (if needed on 26 April),” John Dobson told the media.

Therefore, Libbok is the only player on this list who will be fit and available for selection for Rassie Erasmus’ Springboks in 2025.
