Surprisingly, his visit comes amid the controversial prophet’s legal woes back home. That alone has since led to netizens, government officials, and political parties sharing their two cents.

Bushiri is facing several charges, including money laundering in South Africa. The man of oath skipped the borders with his wife after the two were granted bail in 2020..

Bushiri is yet to be extradited to face trial in South Africa. Despite his woes, Shivambu visited his church and took to social media to express his gratitude.

Taking to X formerly Twitter, Shivambu posted, “Thank you, my brother, Prophet Bushiri, for hosting us and for the kind words.

“The government-scale amount of work you do to economically, educationally, socially, and spiritually uplift our people is unparalleled—both now and historically.”

In one of his posts, the MK Party secretary general referenced a bible verse: “Kindness to the poor is a loan to the LORD, and He will repay the lender. God bless!”

Bushiri praised Shivambu’s dedication to African empowerment: “Men like Floyd believe in supporting fellow Africans and encouraging those who are doing well. I’m so happy to have someone like him in South Africa and on the continent.”
