Kaizer Chiefs could be without atleast five players when they host Marumo Gallants on Saturday afternoon.
Amakhosi have not won a league match since they edged out Magesi FC 1-0 in March. With the top eight battle intensifying in the final rounds of matches, Chiefs will need to get back to winning ways or risk finishing outside the top eight for a second successive season.
This coming weekend, Kaizer Chiefs will be without five of their top players. Gaston Sirino and Pule Mmodi will miss the team’s next match, having accumulated their fourth yellow cards against Chippa, automatically triggering a one-game suspension.
Dillan Solomons, Rushwin Dortley and Miguel Inacio are unlikely to play on Saturday due to injuries. Solomons had to be subbed off during the Chippa match.
After the match, Nabi was concerned that most of his defenders had picked up injuries this season.
Kaizer Chiefs have five players injured, Nabi is concerned
“I congratulate and thank the players such as Zitha, Dove and Njabulo Blom in defence after we lost many defenders to injuries,” Nabi said.
“In the next week we will have some players back. We’ve been unlucky with the injuries, but I think we have a good group.”
The five players injured for Kaizer Chiefs include: Miguel, Dortley, Solomons, Frosler and Edson Castillo. Solomons and Miguel are likely to return to action before the end of the season, but Dortley is doubtful to recover in the next few weeks. Amakhosi still have to play atleast five matches this season, including the Nedbank Cup final.
Can Chiefs finish in the top 8?
