Durban City have officially revealed the identity of their player who passed away on Tuesday night.
Durban City were in league action against Milford FC at Chatsworth Stadium when the game had to be stopped and later suspended.
And this was in the second half of the encounter with Durban City trailing Milford FC by 1-0.
Milford FC’s goal was scored by Siphosethu Ndlabi from the penalty spot merely 10 minutes into the game.
Now, Durban City have confirmed that the player who lost his life due to concussion is none other Sinamandla Zondi.

DURBAN CITY STAR SINAMANDLA ZONDI PASSES AWAY
According to local reports, Zondi (22) suffered the concussion during the game against Milford FC on the rainy night.
He was attended to by the paramedics and club doctors before being rushed to hospital.
However, he could not make it to hospital as he succumbed to death before the ambulance could get there.
And upon receiving the news, the referee stopped the game, and decided that it could not go on in respect of the deceased.
Durban City have now released a brief statement confirming that the player they have lost is Zondi widely known as ‘Sgora‘.
“It is with deep sadness that we confirm the passing of Sinamandla Zondi aka Sgora, a loved member of the Durban City family,” reads the official statement.
“Sinamandla was more than a talented footballer, he was a teammate, a friend, a brother, a son and an inspiration to all who knew him.
“Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with his family, friends, teammates, coaches and everyone affected by this tragic loss.
“We will continue to support those close to him during this difficult time.”
