EFF President Julius Malema warned that if a no-confidence motion against Cyril Ramaphosa is successful, the DA’s leader John Steenhuisen will become president of the country.
Speaking to the media on Monday, Malema said the party would not support the MK Party on its motion of no confidence against the Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana, instead, they would support one against President Cyril Ramaphosa.

The EFF leader vowed to vote with the DA to oust President Cyril Ramaphosa.
“I want to warn you that this country will have a white president, this country will have Steenhuisen as a president if the ANC is going to behave the way it is behaving,” he said.
“A motion of no confidence will come and we will vote with the DA, mobilise all those we can mobilise and vote together with the DA against the president, and then when it’s time to elect a president, we abstain and the ANC loses.”
Julius Malema warns that ANC will lose more than just metros
“And this, we told them in 2016, they never believed it. It’s going to happen in South Africa now, you’ll see. We told them in 2016 that you would lose the metros; they thought we were playing. The DA nominated their people, we abstained and they finished them,” Malema added.
Last week, the EFF called for Godongwana’s resignation over the VAT hike reversal. The party took the matter to court after the minister passed the 0.5% increase.
Julius Malema has also expressed his desire to join the National Government of Unity (GNU), but only if the DA and Freedom Front Plus leave.
Do you think Steenhuisen will become president?
