Statement about Johannesburg water cuts in May
The City of Johannesburg Municipality released a statement clarifying they will not be conducting the maintenance at their Palmiet Pump Station as previously communicated. The municipality revealed that “Johannesburg Water had erroneously issued a customer notice on Monday, 14 April 2025 informing customers of an upcoming maintenance by the bulk supplier, which would impact several of the Entity’s systems. However, Rand Water will not be undertaking this maintenance.”
However, there is a possibility it is just being delayed, not cancelled. We still recommend checking the official City of Johannesburg website regularly for updates. If anything changes, we will also update you on our side.
