Authorities have launched an investigation following the discovery of the body of an unidentified woman near the Kalk Bay lighthouse in Cape Town.
According to the Muizenberg South African Police Service (SAPS), a passer-by discovered the body at approximately 08:20 on the beach.
The deceased is believed to be a woman in her early thirties, although no identification has yet been confirmed.
Police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Malcolm Pojie stated that an autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
“This is an active investigation. We urge anyone who may have information that could assist us to come forward,” said Lt Col Pojie.
