Tesla without Elon Musk? Here’s what we know

Tesla board has denied that they have opened a search to succeed CEO, South African-born billionaire Elon Musk.

REPORT CLAIMS TESLA OPENED SEARCH FOR CEO TO SUCCEED ELON MUSK

According to the Wall Street Journal, Tesla’s board started the process of replacing Elon Musk as CEO, after a month of public backlash over his continued absence from the company. This reportedly happened as sales fell and profit collapsed. Investors reportedly lost patience with the billionaire’s obsession with the White House.

As per the report, board members contacted many top recruiting firms to begin the official search for a new CEO and meetings were held behind the scenes. Directors reportedly told Musk that he had to spend more time at Tesla, which he reportedly agreed to do.

TESLA BOARD DENIES RUMOURS

However, the Tesla board has since denied the report. Tesla’s chair Robyn Denholm said that the rumours were “absolutely false.” Denholm also stated that the board is “highly confident in his ability to continue executing on the exciting growth plan ahead.”

Musk also replied to the rumours via a post on X, formerly known as Twitter.

“It is an EXTREMELY BAD BREACH OF ETHICS that the

@WSJ would publish a DELIBERATELY FALSE ARTICLE and fail to include an unequivocal denial beforehand by the Tesla board of directors,” he wrote on X.

However, Wall Street Journal also released a statement, standing firmly on their reporting.

“Tesla was given the opportunity to provide a statement before publication, which they did not do,” said a spokesperson according to CNN.

This comes after the claim that Musk had asked an influencer to have his baby, following the news of the arrival of his 13th and 14th child.

HOW WELL DO YOU THINK TESLA WOULD DO WITHOUT ELON MUSK?
