Kaizer Chiefs given multiple transfer headaches – Deals off?

Earlier in the season, Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi vowed to prioritise overseas talent for transfer business, believing the PSL market to be a harder case to crack.

The ever-lasting and unsuccessful Fawaaz Basadien negotiations were perhaps the catalyst to his decision, but he’s not having much luck abroad.

The Soweto giants, whose winter window mantra appears to be finding a natural goalscorer, are reportedly keen on Congolese international Fiston Mayele and Wydad Athletics’ Cassius Mialula, who is on loan from Toronto FC.

Both clubs are eager to hold on to their respective players, hindering Kaizer Chiefs’ chances of landing either.

More on Mayele

In an attempt to keep Mayele, Pyramids FC has offered the 30-year-old a two-year extension.

“They are doing everything to keep him. They know there is interest not just from Kaizer Chiefs but other clubs as well and they want to make sure they keep him. So they have offered him a new two-year contract which increases his value as well,” Soccer Laduma reported.

What about Mailula?

Meanwhile, Wydad Athletic, along with several European clubs, are monitoring former Mamelodi Sundowns man Cassius Mialula.

“For Wydad it will depend on whether coach Rulani Mokwena is still there or if whoever takes over still needs him,” an inside source revealed, before adding that,There is interest from Europe. So, Chiefs have to outbid all the other interest if they are to have a chance of signing him. But it’s true they have shown interest in Mailula.”

Who else should Kaizer Chiefs be monitoring?
