Dricus du Plessis and Khamzat Chimaev were meant to headline UFC 317, but recent news has fans questioning whether the fight will take place at all.
Du Plessis, the reigning UFC middleweight champion from Pretoria, is allegedly dealing with an injury that has led Chimaev to throw shade online.
The Chechen fighter claims Du Plessis is trying to avoid the fight, but Du Plessis didn’t stay quiet as he fired back by comparing their recent fight records.
Du Plessis has recorded major wins against “titans” of the sport such as Sean Strickland and Israel Adesanya.
On the other hand, Chimaev has barely shown up as most of his fights were either cancelled or postponed.
He also suggested the fight might not have even been officially signed.
