Some areas under the eThekwini Municipality will experience a power outage for at least eight hours on Thursday, 10 April due to planned maintenance.
The maintenance is scheduled to start at 8:00 to 16:00.
PLANNED POWER OUTAGE IN ETHEKWINI
The metro municipality said the scheduled outage is necessary to allow eThekwini to perform an urgent medium voltage switchgear repair at Berea Park Substation to improve the reliability of the substation.
“To execute this work safely, it is necessary to interrupt the electricity supply at Berea Park substation,” it said.
The following area will be affected:
- Musgrave
- Berea
- Bonela
- Overport
EThekwini Municipality also urged customers in the area to plan for this outage and added that customers who are not switched off by 8.30 can assume that they will not be affected by the planned power outage.
“During this outage, members of the public are advised to treat all electrical installations as live,” the municipality said.
