Jordan Peele’s new horror film, ‘Him’ set to bring a chilling twist

Jordan Peele’s new horror thriller Him is set to hit cinemas on 19 September 2025. The movie promises audiences a chilling blend of sports drama and psychological terror.

THE PLOT OF ‘HIM’

The film follows Cameron Cade, a young and talented footballer whose dreams of NFL stardom are shattered. Cade is involved in a brutal attack that leaves him with a traumatic brain injury, according to India Today.

When all seems lost, NFL legend Isaiah White offers Cameron a second chance, he invites him to train at his remote compound. But this opportunity quickly turns into a nightmare.

Tyriq Withers, a former college wide receiver, stars as Cameron Cade. The athlete brings authenticity to the role of a rising star on the brink of professional glory.

THE CAST OF ‘HIM’

Marlon Wayans takes on the role of Isaiah White, an eight-time championship-winning quarterback whose charm masks a far darker nature.

Julia Fox plays Elsie White, Isaiah’s influencer wife, adding another layer of unsettling glamour to the isolated setting.

The film’s director, Justin Tipping, brings a fresh vision to this horror tale, based on a screenplay by Zack Akers and Skip Bronkie.

JORDAN PEELE’S PRODUCTION COMPANY

Produced by Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions, Him explores the terrifying cost of ambition and the sinister side of idol worship in the high-stakes world of professional football.

The teaser trailer reveals intense training sequences and disturbing religious imagery, hinting at a cult-like atmosphere within Isaiah’s compound.

As Cameron’s training intensifies, Isaiah’s mentorship becomes suffocating, forcing Cameron to confront how far he is willing to go—and what he might lose—in his quest for fame and success.

Marlon Wayans cryptically warns, “Talent is how hard you’re willing to work… What am I ready to sacrifice?”.

STAR-STUDDED SUPPORTING CAST

The supporting cast includes comedian Tim Heidecker, MMA fighter Maurice Greene, and hip-hop artists Guapdad 4000 and Tierra Whack. They all make their feature film debuts.

This diverse ensemble adds depth to the film’s exploration of fame, power, and psychological manipulation.

Him offers a gripping new kind of horror that goes beyond supernatural scares. It taps into the real-life pressures athletes face and the dark side of chasing greatness.

A HAUNTING TALE

As Wayans puts it, “Bro… It’s different.” The film’s release in September means it could become a must-watch thriller for fans of both sport and horror alike.

Him is a haunting tale of sacrifice, ambition, and the terrifying price of chasing glory. Viewers should prepare for a story that burrows under the skin and stays with you long after the final whistle blows.
