Nothing changes if everything stays the same. Do Kaizer Chiefs need drastic surgery on all levels at the club?
Chiefs fans are fed up with a lack of progress
Another trophyless season beckons, and the club even faces an uphill battle to qualify for next season’s MTN8. Chippa and Golden Arrows both pose a serious threat to their ambitions of a top-eight finish; Amakhosi have 30 points after 24 games. The Chilli Boys are just a point adrift and have two gams in hand, while Arrows are only two points behind Chiefs and they have three games in hand on the Glamour Boys.
‘Chiefs must replace the board, manager and entire playing squad’, one fan wrote on The South African.
Would Nwabali be an upgrade on Kaizer Chiefs’ existing goalkeeping options?
According to Soccer Laduma, Chippa United want to sign Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Ethan Visagie. He’s yet to make his Bucs debut. Pirates have a surplus of goalkeepers on their books and are keen to send Visagie out on loan to gain valuable first-team experience. The Chilli Boys see 23-year-old Visagie as the perfect replacement for Stanley Nwabali, who they expect to leave. The Nigerian Number 1, Nwabali, is wanted across the PSL and in Europe. The 28-year-old, who stands at an impressive 1.96m tall, has made 19 appearances in the league this term.
