Kaizer Chiefs are keen to bolster their defence with a signing that could solve a long-standing problem position.
Kaizer Chiefs target Mabuya in R10 million deal
Right back has long been an issue for Kaizer Chiefs, with neither Dillan Solomons nor Reever Frosler seemingly trusted long-term in the role. Richards Bay club chairman Jomo Biyela admitted that Chiefs were interested in Lwandile Mabuya during the January window. According to Soccer-Laduma, the Glamour Boys are ready to make a concrete offer.
“From what we understand, there could be a player exchange between the two clubs (for Mabuya), mainly Mduduzi Mdantsane. Yes, Sabelo Radebe could also stay, but that could be decided when everything is settled and agreed upon. Now they have to consider the offer Chiefs have tabled. Then the rest (can happen), including a player exchange, could follow,” said the source.
Increased war chest for the Chiefs board
Amakhosi have increased their budget for the upcoming winter window to R80 million, and those coffers could be further bolstered in 2026. That’s according to local publication Soccer Laduma.
