Kaizer Chiefs legend Khune hints at Bafana coaching role

In a recent Instagram reel, Itumeleng Khune and Brian Baloyi took part in an ‘Agree or Disagree’ debate with a passionate Pirates fan.

“I think you are a better goalkeeper [than I was]. You should even be Bafana Bafana’s goalkeeper coach,” Baloyi stated, which left Khune humbled.

“Hopefully, the doors will open,” the former Amakhosi man replied.

Obrigado to miss Orlando Pirates clashes

Breakout Kaizer Chiefs star Mfundo ‘Obrigado’ Vilakazi is a regular in Amakhosi matchday squads. However, he will miss both meetings with Orlando Pirates. The teenage winger is part of the South African U20 side at the most inopportune time for Pirates, ruling him out of these two matches. The U20 AFCON takes place between 26 April and 18 May.

As fate would have it, Pirates and Chiefs meet twice in quick succession at the sharp end of the 2024-2025 campaign. First, they do battle in the Betway Premiership on Saturday, 03 May at 15:00. Then, they meet in the Nedbank Cup final on Saturday, 10 May.
