Kaizer Chiefs transfer blow? Stellies move to lock down star

Kaizer Chiefs might have hit a transfer blow, as Stellenbosch potentially move to lock down star. Stellies have ramped up efforts to retain standout midfielder Sihle Nduli, amid growing interest from Kaizer Chiefs, according to a source familiar with the situation.

New deal on the table for Nduli

The source revealed that Stellenbosch have tabled a two-year contract extension with an additional one-year option for Nduli, whose current deal is set to expire at the end of the season.

A source close to the club stated. “The club is apparently very happy with him and they don’t want to lose him, hence this new offer for him to stay at the club.”

Stellenbosch’s intent is clear, they want to keep one of their most consistent performers locked in, especially with top-tier rivals circling.

Chiefs still watching closely

Despite the new offer, Kaizer Chiefs haven’t backed down. They continue to monitor the situation closely, holding onto hope that they might still secure the 25-year-old midfielder, Nduli.

“There was a time when it looked like Chiefs could get him for free,” the source said.

“But with this new offer on the table for him by Stellies, then it doesn’t look like Chiefs will get him. But apparently Chiefs are still monitoring the situation as they are believed to be interested in him.”

Nduli’s influence at Stellies

Since joining Stellenbosch from TS Galaxy in 2022, Nduli has become a cornerstone of the team’s midfield. He made 39 appearances throughout the season, playing a vital role in the club’s performance.

Stellies recognizes his value, and with the clock ticking on his current contract, they’re moving decisively to keep him.

The battle for Nduli’s signature could intensify if he stalls on signing the extension. While Stellies are eager to finalise the deal, Chiefs may still plot a late move, especially if negotiations drag on.

For now, all eyes are on Nduli.
