Today’s Kaizer Chiefs news wrap features rumours involving Pitso Mosimane and the club’s major transfer targets.
Orlando Pirates want Pitso Mosimane
According to Soccer-Laduma, the legendary former Sundowns, Bafana, and Al Ahly boss Pitso Mosimane is Orlando Pirates’ number one target to replace the outgoing Jose Riveiro. This is potentially bad news for Kaizer Chiefs. They are keen on the three-time Caf Champions League winner taking the reins at Naturena.
“There are a few coaches to be considered for different reasons, but apparently it’s believed that Pitso (Mosimane) is their (Pirates) preferred candidate. It’s believed that he is their first priority at the moment. That’s what the team wants as things stand. Even if they have not spoken to him (behind the scenes) yet, he is their first priority,” said the source to the same publication.
Mabuya to solve a problem position for Kaizer Chiefs?
Right back has long been an issue for Kaizer Chiefs. Neither Dillan Solomons nor Reever Frosler have been trusted long-term in the role. Richards Bay club chairman Jomo Biyela admitted that Chiefs were interested in Lwandile Mabuya during the January window. According to Soccer-Laduma, the Glamour Boys are ready to make a concrete offer.
