Kaizer Chiefs Transfer News: Two strikers

This is what the Kaizer Chiefs supporters are expecting. Amakhosi are linked with not one but two strikers.

KAIZER CHIEFS LINKED WITH YANELA MBUTHUMA

We’ve seen this many times before. Amakhosi and Orlando Pirates are reportedly targeting the same football player before every transfer window.

The subject is Yanella Mbuthuma at Richards Bay FC. The 23-year-old striker may only have five goals in 25 matches, but Mbuthuma is all about tireless work up front. Think of a younger Evidence Makgopa. According to Soccer Laduma, Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates are interested in the Richards Bay number nine. Will it be Amakhosi or the Sea Robbers winning the race?

“There are several players that the club is looking at for next season but the first priority is the striking department and it’s believed that they have identified Richards Bay United’s Yanela Mbuthuma and the club is set to table an offer for him,” a source told Soccer Laduma

“At the moment I am not sure of how much they are offering but they are willing to sign him and that’s why they are tabling that offer. But you know Chiefs are also apparently interested in the same player and that’s why Pirates are ready to table the offer and have an advantage over their rivals,” the source added.

“They are looking at different strikers. They want to boost the striking force as they will be playing in many different competitions next season and that’s why they are set to table the offer for Mbuthuma and sign other strikers as well. He is not the only striker they are targeting as there is one from Kruger United and another one from Zambia as well.”

GAVIN HUNT ON FISTON MAYELE

Former SuperSport United coach Gavin Hunt recently chatted with Soccerbeat, one of the leading local football podcasts. The former Amakhosi tactician was simply asked if the 30-year-old Pyramids FC striker Mayele is what Kaizer Chiefs need? The former Young Africans attacker is currently on 15 goals and two assists in 35 games for the Egyptian side.

“I think Fiston Mayele could be a 30-goal striker in the PSL. He’s not involved in all the touches on the pitch, he just plays in the box,” Hunt said on the show, as quoted by iDiski Times.

“So, if you give him the service, he will score goals on his own by his movements, strength, and power. He’s very good at hitting the target; that’s why I think he’s a 30-goal striker.

“He’s 30 years of age, but there are teams in the PSL that don’t look for a long-term solution but a short-term solution. With the goals Mayele can score, Kaizer Chiefs will win the treble.”
