Orlando Pirates legend Moeneeb Josephs is against the idea of Rulani Mokwena returning to the club as head coach. Mokwena had a brief stint with Pirates as their interim coach between August and December 2020.
Subsequent to Josef Zinnbauer’s appointment on a permanent deal, Mokwena was demoted back to the position of assistant coach.
However, he didn’t appear too keen to work with Zinnbauer and Fadlu Davids, and he was later allowed to join Chippa United.

PIRATES LEGEND AGAINST RULANI MOKWENA’S APPOINTMENT
Mokwena then moved from Chippa United to Mamelodi Sundowns where he enjoyed huge success before his Wydad move. When he was the interim coach, Mokwena took charge of 14 competitive games for Pirates. He won four, lost five and drew five.
And in his own words, Josephs said bringing Mokwena back into the club will be like wearing old shoes again. Mokwena will be a free agent from June and so is current and outgoing Orlando Pirates coach Jose Riveiro.
