Orlando Pirates coach responds to Zamalek but makes one clear request

Orlando Pirates head coach Jose Riveiro has reportedly been contacted by Egyptian giants Zamalek FC.

Riveiro will leave the Buccaneers after three glorious years in South Africa at the end of the season.

The Spanish tactician has already lifted five trophies in the country, with three more being up for grabs still before he departs.

And now, reports suggest fellow African giants Zamalek FC are interested in hiring the Orlando Pirates mentor!

According to the latest transfer gossip, Orlando Pirates head coach Jose Riveiro has not shut the door on a potential move to Egypt.

Instead, when contacted, the Spanish coach urged the Zamalek board to be patient, as he navigates a busy period in charge of the Buccaneers!

“Zamalek are said to be keen on wrapping up negotiations early and potentially announcing their new head coach before the conclusion of the current campaign,” a Soccer Laduma report read.

“Riveiro, however, is reported to have responded with a polite but firm request for patience. Sources indicate that while the 48-year-old Spaniard is open to the prospect of joining the Egyptian Premier League giants, he has asked the club to wait until his current commitments with Orlando Pirates have been fulfilled.”
