Pirates news: Three-year deal for rival star; New ‘Mofokeng’ arrives

Orlando Pirates are making moves.

The Soweto giants, who failed to land any talent in January, have already begun negotiations in preparation for the offseason window – in some cases, they’ve already submitted offers.

According to reports, the reigning MTN8 Cup winners have submitted a three-year for Gallants maestro Masindi Nemtajela.”It’s believed that now the club has offered him a three-year deal,” SoccerLaduma confirmed.

“They are looking at improving the squad mainly in the midfield because they will be apparently looking at releasing some of the current midfielders so Masindi is one of those players hence the three-year contract they have offered him.”

Orlando Pirates, laden with talent, are expected to use several players as bargaining chips throughout the winter window; and are exploring options to do so in their hunt for Nemtajela.

“As the club is looking at releasing other players, these players are apparently part of the potential deal between Pirates and Gallants,” a source revealed.

“At the moment I can’t say which of those players are, but discussions are ongoing and things could be finalised at the end of the season.”

The next Mofokeng

Following a prolific season, Orlando Pirates have promoted DDC star Rethabile Ramontoeli, whose game has been likened to poster boy Relebohile Mofokeng.

“There is an exciting player who has been signed by Orlando Pirates, and soon people will be talking about him.

“His name is Rethabile Ramontoeli, and he plays as a winger and as an attacking midfielder. He is the next Relebohile Mofokeng, that one, I can promise you.”

Who else should Orlando Pirates be monitoring?
