The acting police commissioner in Limpopo, Major General Samuel Manala, has ordered police to mobilise the available resources to launch a search for suspects following yet another farm murder in the province.

Robert Stoltz, a 78-year-old farmer who lived alone at Stofkraal Farm, Harteles, was allegedly brutally attacked and killed earlier this week.

ANOTHER FARM MURDER REPORTED IN LIMPOPO

South African Police Service (SAPS) spokesperson in Limpopo, Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, said the Roossenekal police have opened a murder case under Sekhukhune District following the murder that occurred on Wednesday, 30 April, at Stofkraal Farm, Harteles at about 17:15 and was only discovered on Thursday morning, 1 May.

Ledwaba said reports suggest that a 78-year-old male victim was found by a family member with a cloth on his mouth and also tied with a wire inside the bathroom, in a pool of blood with visible severe wounds on the forehead.

“Preliminary investigations revealed that the victim’s blue Cherry motor vehicle was spotted along the R555 public road heading to the Burgersfort policing area.

“The motor vehicle was later found abandoned after having overturned, about six kilometres from the scene of crime,” he explained.

Police have urged anyone who can provide valuable information that can lead to the apprehension of the suspects to contact the Investigating Officer Sergeant Millicent Mokgomogane on 076 614 0141 or Crime Stop number 08600 10111 or nearest police station or MySAPS App.
