South African rugby fans can mark their calendars for Friday, 16 May, when tickets go on sale for the Springboks’ highly anticipated return to home Test match action, kicking off with the Incoming Series in July.
SA Rugby confirmed on Wednesday that tickets will be available exclusively via Ticketmaster for the series, which sees the Springboks face Italy in Pretoria and Gqeberha, before taking on Georgia in Mbombela.
These will be the first home Tests since South Africa’s dominant 48-7 win over Argentina in September 2024.
In addition, fans can look forward to a blockbuster announcement soon regarding an additional home fixture against the world-renowned Barbarians.
Tickets for the Rugby Championship home matches – against Australia and Argentina – will be released on Friday, 13 June.
Crucial year for the world champions
SA Rugby CEO Rian Oberholzer said the opening Test series is about more than just kicking off a new season.
“This is more than just the start of the season – it’s a chance for South Africans to once again unite behind a team that brings pride to the nation in a critical year for World Cup preparation. We had an amazing 2024 and we’re looking forward to seeing stadiums filled with passionate supporters.”
As the back-to-back Rugby World Cup champions, the Springboks will be aiming to defend their world No 1 ranking and secure the best possible seeding for the 2027 tournament.
