While Wednesday night’s second leg quarterfinal ended 0-0 in Soweto, the job was done last week in Algeria when the 20-year-old Kimberley-born Mohau Nkota scored a 65th-minute goal in Algiers. The result saw Orlando Pirates advance to the semifinals for the first time since 2013. Meanwhile, Mamelodi Sundowns beat Tunisian giants Esperance 1-0 on aggregate to qualify for the semifinals.

According to CAF, the Buccaneers will face Egyptian league leaders Pyramids FC, dubbed the Sundowns, and Paris Saint Germain of Egypt due to new financial investment from Saudi billionaire Turki Al-Sheikh. The first leg against Orlando Pirates is set for Friday, 18 April, before the second leg in Cairo on 25 April.
